More fun in Utah!

We got into Utah Nov. 4th, blessed Adelaide on the 6th, Jake flew to Guatemala on the 7th, he came back to Utah on the 19th, and then we all flew home on Thanksgiving. It was a fun trip and it was so nice to be with family while Jake was away. We had lots of parties:) We danced (wii dance videos), played a lot, cooked together, and had a wonderful time.

Some of the pictures are of the girls at Disney on Ice. They were so excited to see all the princesses and Emerie was very excited to try cotton candy for the first time. Madison loved doing everyone's hair with her Rapunzel hairbrush souvenir and Emerie loved her light up Tinkerbell wand. It's so fun to have a few weeks of getting spoiled at Grandmas:)
Other than both girls getting an awful cold/cough bug we had a wonderful time and we are so grateful to all of our family for making our trip so fun and special!

Giving Thanks pre-Thanksgiving

Jake posting here.... it's been awhile since I've done a post.
It turns out that most people don't like flying on Thanksgiving day. That means two things: First flights are really, really cheap (we saved like $800 by flying on the holiday). Second, when you mix family, turkey, potatoes and pie on any day in November you can call it Thanksgiving and be grateful!

This year we got to give thanks with our families in Utah all November long...

Adelaide's Blessing

While we were in Utah recently we had Adelaide's blessing at my grandparent's house. It was a beautiful day with our families and it meant a lot to have it at my grandparents. Not only does that house hold lots of childhood memories for me but that house is where Jake and I sat talking on the porch swing till the early morning hours after our first blind date. We also had our wedding reception in their backyard.

It was a special day and Adelaide was able to wear the dress that I was blessed in. We were also able to learn of some more connections to her name. We knew that Adelaide means noble and kind, and that her name was a German princess which they named a city in Australia after. We also knew that the name Adelaide showed up in both of our family history. We didn't know however until after she was born that my dad went to Adelaide Elementary school, or that my Grandma's best friend and maid of honor in her wedding was named Adelaide. She showed us the picture of her wedding with Adelaide wearing the yellow bridesmaid dress. It is a special name and we love her!

Daddy Daughter Date

I forgot to post about Madison's first football game. Jake won tickets at the hospital and Madison was very excited to be Jake's date since I was a little occupied with the baby:) I think Madison probably knows more about the game of football than I do. I think I have forgotten all of the "Football for Dummies" book that I read when Jake and I were dating! Oh the things you do to impress a guy;)

Pumpkin Carving!

This is our first year carving pumpkins with the girls! We have always been so busy that pumpkin carving got pushed aside. The girls thought the seeds were disgusting! I agree and was very happy to be nursing the baby during most of the removing of the pumpkin guts. It's just so slimy! I think agree with my sister that I would rather change a baby's stinky diaper than scrape pumpkin guts. The girls had fun choosing what faces to cut out of their pumpkins. Adelaide also had a great time watching the excitement!

Halloween 2011

What a fun Halloween! Madison and Emerie had a great time dressing up this year. Madison wanted to be Sleeping Beauty riding a flying unicorn and Emerie picked out her dinosor costume. Emerie gave some great scary faces as she roared around the house and neighborhood!
They loved going to Halloween parties! Madison even had a Hallween parade at her preschool. There is nothing like going around getting lots of candy! I love Halloween in Ohio because everyone decorates their driveways and sits outside with their friends and candy waiting to greet all the kids. They don't even have to knock on any doors! We had lots of fun trick-or-treating with our friends the Bugnitz! Love their family themed costume!
